MSC reshapes Wallaby service

Under the changes, MSC has removed New Zealand port calls from the Wallaby service to focus exclusively on Australia-bound cargo flows. As part of the restructuring, Auckland, Bluff, Lyttelton, Napier, Port Chalmers and Wellington have been removed from the Wallaby rotation. The carrier has also streamlined Australian port coverage by eliminating a second Melbourne call. The revised Wallaby service rotation will now connect Shanghai, Ningbo, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hong Kong, Shenzhen (Yantian), Xiamen and return to Shanghai. MSC will maintain New Zealand connectivity indirectly through its Melbourne-based Southern Loop service. The Southern Loop rotation will connect Melbourne with Bluff, Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, Wellington, Nelson, Napier and Bell Bay before returning to Melbourne. The network changes reflect MSC’s continued efforts to optimise service structures and concentrate direct deep-sea capacity on key Australia trade lanes while maintaining New Zealand market access through regional connections.
