Germany’s Oltmann Reederei orders four 10,000 TEU ships

NewsTop Right FacebookTwitterWhatsAppLinkedinEmail German non-operating owner Oltmann Reederei has placed orders for four 10,000 TEU containerships at HJ Shipbuilding and Construction. The deal was concluded in two stages, with an initial contract for two vessels signed in February 2026, followed by the exercise of two options in April, accoring to DynaLiners. All four ships are conventionally powered and are scheduled for delivery in 2028, adding a sizeable block of capacity to Oltmann’s future fleet pipeline. The orders reflect continued appetite among non-operating owners for larger containership tonnage, as newbuilding activity across the sector remains active despite ongoing uncertainty in freight markets.
